What is electronic waste?
Electronic waste is also known as e-waste. Electronics such as televisions, computers, copy machines and fax machines to name a few, contain hazardous substances such as lead and mercury. When these electronics are no longer useful they become known as electronic waste or e-waste. Hazardous materials in these electronics are harmful not only to the environment, but to animals and humans as well. Because of this, disposing of e-waste into the regular trash is against the law and proper disposal is required through legitimate recycling organizations.
